On my family trip to South France our first destination was Marseille. A gorgeous port city. We stayed there for a week and since we had a rental car for only 3 days, rest of the days we just enjoyed the delicious seafood, colorful people, hot weather (but surprisingly ice cold sea water), cute streets and really mellow vibe of the city. We had a double-decked apartment with balconies on both side of the house...so we had a view for sunrise and sunset. We walked all around the center and all the way to the other side of the city to a tiny little beach. Most evenings we spent listening to amazing local music or jazz on balcony, having some drinks and just chatting away into the night.
